What is a Schedule A Lawsuit?
In Schedule A litigation, the plaintiff files a single complaint naming hundreds or thousands of defendants on a sealed exhibit called 'Schedule A.' The court can issue a TRO freezing all defendants' assets simultaneously.
Why Schedule A is Used
This approach allows brand owners to:
- File one case instead of hundreds of individual lawsuits
- Keep defendant names sealed from public view initially
- Obtain asset freezes before defendants know they've been sued
- Reduce per-defendant litigation costs
